If you have a TikTok account, it’s almost impossible to not have heard of this infamous viral TikTok Salmon Rice Bowl with Roasted Seaweed. Emily Mariko, a Japanese American Tiktoker, created a video on Tiktok of this salmon rice bowl.

This bowl is made from flaked salmon and white rice mixed with soy sauce, kewpie mayo, sriracha, and avocado. The viral TikTok encourages you to scoop up a bite of salmon rice mixture with roasted seaweed and dive in. The minute I saw it, I had to recreate it. However, I wanted a more flavorful salmon and umami taste. So, I altered the salmon preparation and added eel sauce and sesame seeds on top. I am obsessed, I’m pretty sure I have this at least once a week. It’s so easy and quick to make, healthy, and delicious!

Ingredients

  • Salmon
  • Canola Oil
  • Fresh or day old rice (if using old rice you will need 1 ice cube to bring back the moisture.)
  • Soy Sauce ( I use the low sodium one)
  • Kewpie Mayo ( Typically can be found at Japanese grocery stores.)
  • Srirach (optional if you do not like spicy food)
  • Avocado
  • Green Onions
  • Sesame Seeds
  • Eel Sauce
  • Roasted Seaweed

Cooking Instructions

Salmon Instructions

  • Preheat Airfryer to 350 or oven to 375
  • Rinse and pat dry salmon piece
  • Coat / Smear the top of the salmon with a teaspoon Kewpie mayo.
  • Season salmon: I used cajuan seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder and pepper
  • Cook Salmon for 14-16 minutes

Salmon Rice Bowl Instructions

Step 1: Break up cooked salmon in a bowl with a fork

Step 2: Add your desired amount of rice. I use about half a cup per a bowl

Step 3: Add soy sauce, mayo, sriracha, and mix well

Step 4: Add chopped green onions and lightly mix them in

Step 5: Add sliced avocado, drizzle eel sauce on top, and garnish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds.

Open up that Roasted Seaweed and scoop your delicious salmon rice bowl mixture into the seaweed and enjoy! Don’t blame me when you become addicted!
